Compartmentalized microenvironnements

The microchannels technology allows a fluidic isolation between the compartments of the NeuroFluidics™ line which allows the creation of compartmentalized microenvironments.

  • Application of different culture media
  • Ensures appropriate differentiation and maintenance of cell cultures
  • Co-culture of neurons, such as in Huntington disease
  • Co-culture of neurons and non-neural cells, such as in gut brain axis

Neurites isolation

Due to their micrometric measurement the microchannels technology allow the isolation of neurites. Only neurites can grow within the microchannels, leaving the cell bodies within the compartements themselves.

  • Minimal leakage
  • Testing compounds only on neurites or somas
  • Physiological cellular connexion between neurites and non-neural cells, such as in innervated skin
  • Modelling the mode of action of proteins or peptides, such as in in Alzheimer's disease, Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis or Parkinson's disease

Fluidic isolation improvement

In our NeuroFluidics™ line, either with microchannels tunnels or grooves, the fluid leakage is significantly reduced, compared to the two-channel device, with a maximal leakage value divided by 2 to 3.
