Central neuropathic pain is a chronic neurological condition caused by a damage to or a disease affecting the central somatosensory nervous system. Is those cases, pain receptors are not involved and the pain sensation is due to a dysfunction of the nervous system.
In collaboration with Axion BioSystems, we have developed at NETRI microfluidic devices coupled with high-throughput compatible MultiElectrod Arrays (MEAs), allowing neurons co-culture and their functional and phenotypical analysis.
