PRESS RELEASE | November 15, 2024
The CES Innovation Awards® 2025 program received a record number of submissions – over 3400. The announcement comes ahead of CES 2025, the world’s most powerful technology event, happening Jan. 7-10 in Las Vegas, NV. The CES Innovation Awards program, owned and produced by the Consumer Technology Association (CTA)®, is an annual competition honoring outstanding design and engineering in 33 consumer technology product categories. Those with the highest rating receive the “Best of Innovation” distinction. An elite panel of industry expert judges, including members of the media, designers, engineers, and more, reviewed submissions based on innovation, engineering and functionality, aesthetic, and design.
NETRI, an industrial start-up based in Lyon (France), has been awarded the highly coveted Innovation Award from CES Las Vegas for its pioneering platform, NeuroFluidics™ Care. This platform is transforming biochemical safety assessments, enabling early toxicity analysis of compounds used by the food industry with unprecedented precision and accessibility.
Lyon, France, November 15 2024 – NETRI will be showcasing this award-winning technology at CES Las Vegas 2025, from January 6th to January 10 th, in the Auvergne Rhône-Alpes Pavilion. Attendees are invited to visit NETRI’s #60711-14 booth in the Eureka Park, where live demonstrations of NeuroFluidics Care will illustrate its potential to revolutionize predictive toxicology for food production.
The Food & AgTech category is for technologies that improve yields and efficiency in food production (producing, preserving or processing food with less waste and improving nutrition). These may include plant-based technologies, features that produce better crops or new local or home-grown food options.
The CES Innovation Awards are based upon descriptive materials submitted to the judges. CTA did not verify the accuracy of any submission or of any claims made and did not test the item to which the award was given.
Introducing NeuroFluidics Care: Transforming Safety Standards for Biochemical Compounds for food industries
NeuroFluidics™ Care is a first-of-its-kind, remotely accessible service that empowers food industry professionals to evaluate the toxicology of biochemical compounds used in agricultural production and food processing. Companies simply send their target compounds to NETRI’s cutting-edge laboratories along with an online questionnaire detailing the mode of action and intended effects on crops or food products. Within just few weeks, the NeuroFluidics™ Care app provides comprehensive predictive toxicology data, helping companies gauge the potential health risks of compounds, including their likelihood of triggering disease-related toxic effects.
Based on a decade of academic research and six years of industry-driven innovation, NETRI’s NeoBento™ platforms use advanced organs-on-chip technology to bring human-based insights into food safety. Using human neurons derived from stem cells, NeoBento™ platforms allow innervation of targeted organs, allowing high-throughput, reproducible models that yield robust, industrial-grade results. This breakthrough provides food producers with a revolutionary biosensing platform that offers digital signatures—recordings of neuronal responses, thanks to the Maestro from Axion BioSystems—correlating directly with potential health impacts of chemicals on the human gut.
An Innovation Built on Three Pillars
NETRI’s award-winning technology stands out with three key strengths:
- Stem Cell Technology for Industrial Applications: Using neurons as natural biosensors provides reliable, scalable data without the need for frequent cell donors, making this approach suitable for high-throughput, industrial applications,
- Extensive and Expanding Chemical Database: NETRI’s technology screens commercially available chemicals globally, giving AgTech professionals diverse options and expanding the breadth of NETRI’s predictive analytics.
- Continual Improvement Through Data Collection: As more data is gathered from AgTech clients, NETRI’s platform becomes increasingly precise, continuously advancing the design and efficacy of biochemical compounds used in food production and preservation.
With NeuroFluidics™ Care, researchers and industrial clients can access a secure portal to review findings, gain data-driven recommendations, and observe the effects on cell cultures over time through detailed neural network analytics. This intuitive access to NETRI’s organs-on-chip platform, featuring the NeuroFluidics™ MEA assays, ensures clients receive the highest quality insights from human cell-based platforms cultured under rigorously controlled, automated lab conditions.
NETRI’s NeuroFluidics™ Care technology offers an unparalleled solution for evaluating the impact of chemicals in food production, marking a new era in predictive toxicology for Agtech and food safety.
ABOUT NETRI
NETRI, an industrial start-up, offers healthcare industries the ability to generate mini human organs on chip which, coupled with AI treatments, can predict the clinical effect of a drug candidate. NETRI offers its customers support throughout the development of their drug or product candidate, providing predictive answers on toxicity, efficacy and modes of action in the discovery, preclinical and clinical phases. Organ-on-a-chip devices enable the creation of healthy or pathological physiological models. Using its high-throughput microfluidic technologies, NETRI’s models recreate human physiology in vitro by co-culturing cells, either primary or derived from human stem cells, compartmentalized and coupled with functional activity measurements. NETRI today markets its NeuroFludidics™ organ-on-a-chip models in pain, dermo-cosmetics, neurological disorders and nutritional health applications. www.netri.com | www.linkedin.com/company/netri
